PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for especially handling the standard length material and short length material of materials to be rolled which can not be piled up on the way to a collecting and transporting device for a bundling device and sawing device in the finishing stage of small shapes. SOLUTION: With this device, the standard-length materials 2 and short-length materials 3 are transported on a common transporting route 4 to the collecting and transporting device. In such a case, a collecting trough or a collecting grating for the standard-length materials is provided on this side of the transporting route 4 and the collecting device 6 for the short-length material is provided on the transporting route. The collecting device 6 is composed so as to be lowered on the transporting route 4.
