PURPOSE: A method of limiting access using ADSL line on an asymmetric data transmission device is provided to limit selectively access to the subscribers or the internet addresses. CONSTITUTION: In a method of limiting access using ADSL line, In steps (300-302), a microprocessor checks whether any access limits request is for adding or deleting limits. In step (306), in case of adding, the user keys in the internet address to be added and the address is saved with a password. In step (308), in case of deleting, the user is required to key in the password. In step (310), the microprocessor responds to the correct password. In step (312), the user keys in the address to be deleted and the address is deleted from the RAM. In steps (300-302), if the user tries to access an internet address, in step (316), the address is compared with the addresses assigned as limited addresses. In step (318), the comparison is verified. In step (324), if the address does not belong to limited addresses, access is accepted. In step (320), if the address belongs to limited addresses, the user is requested to key in the password. In step (322), if the password is correct, access to the internet address is allowed. In step (326), if the password is not correct, access is rejected.
