ADDITIVE CONCENTRATES FOR OLEFINIC POLYMERS

A master batch for a flame and bloom resistant polymer compositions is disclosed. The master batch contains at least 25 % by weight polar flame retardant additives and at least one elastomeric carrier resin as well as, optionally, anti-oxidants, flame retardant synergists, and other additives. Preferred elastomeric carrier resins are substantially linear ethylene/C5-C10 alpha -olefin copolymers prepared by constrained geometry catalysis using metallocene catalysts, especially alpha -octene/ethylene elastomers. A preferred polar flame retardant additive is tris- (tribromoneopentyl) - phosphate. Master batches containing up to 70 % by weight polar additives may be prepared.
