The present invention concerns new uses for existing disinfectants in the manufacture of preparations for the treatment of lung infections, together with devices containing same for the treatment of lung infections, and methods of treatment of lung infections. In particular, the present invention discloses the use of a broad-spectrum disinfectant in the manufacture of an inhalation device for the treatment of lung infections, and a method of manufacture of an inhalation device for the treatment of lung infections, characterised in the use of a broad-spectrum disinfectant. The disinfectant employed may include members of the biguanide family (for example polyhexanidum), alcohols or quaternary ammonium compounds.
