PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching machine capable of easily punching various papers in proper positions. SOLUTION: A paper sheet 10 is put on a paper mount part 2 and inserted through an insert port 3 until the tip is collided to a contact means 18b and 20b, a dividing means 30 is moved so as to abut on both sides of the inserted paper, and a selecting operation means 4 conformed to a display 5 corresponding to the kind of the inserted paper is pressed by a user in order to make the machine confirm the kind of the set paper. Stepping motors 11 and 12 are rotated by a necessary quantity so as to attain the hole position and number preliminarily set by an initial setting work in conformation to the paper 10 corresponding to the selecting operation means 4, and first punching means 17 and 18 and second punching means 19 and 20 are axially moved to the position conformed to the kind of the paper 10. When a punching operation that is switch 7 is then operated, a motor 53 that is a power means is rotated to perform the punching.
