PURPOSE: A switching method of a dual processing board in a communication system is provided, which has a high portability and stability by improving a protocol applied in the prior dual processing board. CONSTITUTION: According to the switching method of a dual processing board in a communication system comprising at least more than one active board and standby board, a message informing the activation of a standby board(20) is transferred to an active board(10) if the standby board is booted initially. The standby board transfers a message informing the registration of a common variable to the active board if the common variable is registered. Then the active board transmits a message to attempt to synchronize the two boards to the standby board.
