PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance which is originated from a natural product (Aralia cordata), has high safety, an SOD-like activity, and anti-oxidative activities such as a DHA autoxidation-controlling activity and can thereby be added to various drinks or foods to give health drinks or health foods, and provide a drink containing the substance. SOLUTION: This water extract of the Aralia cordata is characterized by containing a water-soluble anti-oxidative ingredient. The water extract is preferably concentrated or not concentrated, and then stored in a refrigerated or frozen state. The drink contains the water extract as an active ingredient.
