<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical packet transmitter and an optical packet receiver which separate optical packets with a short delay time without need of adding unit bits for separating optical packets per address. <P>SOLUTION: The optical packet transmitter transmits with the address information of each packet added to the phase of a carrier for serial optical transmission signals with mixed packets different in addresses. The optical packet receiver couples (interfere process) a received optical transmission signal with a signal delayed by a specified time to emerge an intensity-varied part by the phase-changed part of the carrier, and determines the address of the packet in the optical transmission signal, based on the intensity-varied part, thereby cutting and separating optical transmission signals into packets according to the determined address. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
