PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform half tone separation processing based on the granularity of a cross patch. SOLUTION: One frame data is read in (S201), cross patch data is generated (S202), a cross patch is printed (S203) and then colorimetric results of cross patch and measurements of granularity of that cross patch are inputted (S204). An equi-lightness line is calculated using the colorimetric results of cross patch (S205) and granularity on the equi-lightness line is calculated (S206). The frame data is updated based on a half tone color mixing ratio having a best granularity on each equi-lightness line (half tone separation processing) (S207), and the frame data is interpolated upon ending half tone separation processing of all frame data and then a color separation LUT after half tone separation processing is formed (S209).
