SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING FUEL INJECTION OF DIESEL ENGINE OF AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling operation of a diesel engine of an automobile indiscriminating in a trouble related to fuel injection characteristics to the inside of engine cylinders. SOLUTION: This system for controlling operation of the diesel engine 12 of an automobile is provided with a means 14 for supplying fuel to the cylinder on the basis of at least one main injection and delayed injection of the fuel as a function of the predetermined desired value related to an interval of crank angle for separating the delayed injection from the main injection. This system is provided with a means 28 for estimating the interval of crank angle for separating the delayed injection from the main injection inside at least one cylinder and a means 16 for controlling the supplying means 14 to make the estimated interval follow a desirable interval value.
