FIELD: mining industry, applicable at breaking of kimberlitic rocks in open pits. ^ SUBSTANCE: the method consists in drilling of the main and additional boreholes, placing of an explosive in the boreholes and blasting. The additional boreholes are drilled in the points of intersection of the diagonal connecting the main boreholes with redrill deepness L red determined by formula Lred= (3/4piR3 g1 Kt)-Qe/P,(m), where: R-the radius of rock breaking around the additional charge, m; q1 specific consumption of explosive of the main boreholes, kg, cu.m, Kt - coefficient expressing the ratio of the blast heat of the first and second explosives and at a transition from the emulsion explosive to the standard explosive; Qe-portion of the explosive charge of the additional deephole located above the line of the bench bottom, kg; P-capacity of the deephole, kg/running m. The emulsion explosive is placed in the main deephole, and the standard explosive is placed in the additional deephole. ^ EFFECT: enhanced quality of rock breaking and improved working of the bench bottom at reduced consumption of the explosive. ^ 1 tbl, 2 dwg
