PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of scratch defects or the like at a fuel receiver due to contact with a cover plate, in a fuel battery using liquid fuel. SOLUTION: The fuel battery 1 includes a fuel battery cell having a fuel electrode, an air electrode and an electrolyte film (a membrane electrode complex) 2, and a fuel receiver 3 supplying liquid fuel to the fuel electrode through an opening 3a. Peripheral edges of the cover plate 18 are folded along an end face of the fuel battery cell 2, an end face as well as a bottom face of the fuel receiver 3, and these are pinched to fix the fuel battery cell 2 to the fuel receiver 3.
