PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that defects such as distortion of a track on a disk, a flaw on a surface of the disk, dust and dirt adversely affect an error signal of an actuator, the error in the followability of focus control or tracking control is deteriorated, and various methods are required for coping with the various defects. SOLUTION: The optical disk device includes a focus actuator, a tracking actuator, an optical pickup unit, a focus error signal generation means, a focus control signal generation means, a tracking error signal generation means, a tracking control signal generation means, a frequency generation means, a motor control means, a frequency divider, a defect detection means, a memory, and a system control means.
