INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium for increasing capacity to record information.

SOLUTION: A recording section for recording predetermined information includes a plurality of small areas independently having information and comprises a plurality of recording spots which have diameters larger than dimensional tolerance of the information recording medium. A plurality of the recording spots are preferably arranged in a two dimensional manner. The magnetic body is formed by using a thin film magnetic body especially a magneto-optical material for generating a photo-magnetic effect so that each of a plurality of the small areas included in the recording spot generates magnetization in the direction vertical to the film surface of the magnetic body and records the information in the direction vertical to the magnetization to record the information corresponding to the direction of the magnetization, and further the recording spots can be formed by using the recording material of the optical disk to gradually change the reflectance and transmittance of the light in the recording spot.
