PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the unauthorized use of electronic information remaining in a client terminal without using a technology for decrypting electronic information in displaying electronic information acquired by a client terminal.

SOLUTION: Supposing that a download request is transmitted from a client terminal 10 through a viewer 12, a server 20 which has received this creates content for download (format conversion or the like), and responds to the converted content to a client terminal 10. The client terminal 10 stores the downloaded content in a temporary storage area. A viewer 12 displays the content by opening content for download stored in the temporary storage area. When the content is downloaded, and then the opening of the content stored in the temporary storage area is instructed, the viewer 12 displays the content based on open presence/absence flag and the term of validity or the like, and displays information indicating that the content cannot be opened.
