SQUALENE PRODUCING NOVEL MICROORGANISM

A microorganism which produces a squalene is provided, which enables commercial production of squalene by microorganism fermentation. A microorganism which produces a squalene is Pseudozyma sp. JCC207. A method for isolating Pseudozyma sp. JCC207 which produces the squalene comprises: a step of filtering collected sea water, smearing marine culture medium containing Streptomycin, and culturing at 25‹C for 7 days; a step of isolating 250 kinds of microorganism from various colonies; and a step of analyzing with gas chromatography.
