<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irrigation liquid of the oral cavity, precisely exhibiting foul breath-preventing effects and antiinflammatory effects by using mangosteens having useful biological activities and by clarifying the proper added amount. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The irrigation liquid of the oral cavity contains a chitosan derivative mixture containing α-mangosteen within the range of from 1 μmol to 10 mmol based on 1 kg of a solvent. When the irrigation liquids of the oral cavity as shown by the examples 1 to 5 are used for gargling, large therapeutic effects on the foul breath is exhibited. As a result, it is cleared that the content of ≥1 μmol of the chitosan derivative mixture containing the α-mangosteen based on 1 kg of the solvent is required for precisely obtaining the foul breath-preventing effects and the antiinflammatory effects in the irrigation liquid for the oral cavity.
