A medical instrument capable of holding a wire (Wb), the medical instrument comprising: a sheath (10) having a center axis (O), the sheath (10) also having a first contact region (S1) which can come into contact with the wire, and a second contact region (S2) which is provided closer to the proximal end side than the first contact region and which can come into contact with the wire; and a holding section disposed in the lumen of the sheath so as to be movable forward and backward and holding the wire, wherein, when the wire is disposed in contact with the first contact region (S1) and the second contact region (S2), the center axis (O) and a wire portion (Wb) which is located between the first contact region (S1) and the second contact region (S2) form an acute angle (α) on the first contact region side. |
