<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and method that can realize accurate antialiasing processing without reducing drawing speed irrespective of drawing order, with small memory. <P>SOLUTION: An antialiasing processing system 200 acquires edge information from a drawn image, determines processing content necessary for antialiasing, and executes the determined processing. Either or both of z-buffer information and normal vector information about each pixel, both obtained at the drawing, are scanned, or normal vector information restored from the z-buffer information is used. During the scanning, state machines for holding states and counters for measuring edge continuities are defined, with which adjacent pixel value and at what rate each pixel on each edge should be blended is determined, and it is blended with the determined values to update its pixel value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
