MOTORCYCLE SIDE COVER STRUCTURE

Problem to be solved: to provide a side cover structure for a motorcycle having an engine mounted below and forward its seat, in which the side cover structure extends upwardly and rearwardly from below the seat along the length of the rear body cover and having a visually contiguous upwardly sloping ridgeline defining a widest span of the motorcycle to avoid overlaying a large, wide spatial area which will require large manufacturing molds and to improve comfort of a passenger when their feet are positioned on passenger steps. Solution: In a motorcycle having an engine mounted below and forward its seat, a side cover structure has a main pipe side cover that extends upwardly and rearwardly from below the seat along the length of the rear body cover and having a visually contiguous upwardly sloping ridgeline defining a widest span of the motorcycle in order to enable manufacturing using smaller manufacturing molds, and to convey a novel, impressive design. A cover element disposed adjacent to and below the main pipe side cover slants rearward and upward, until reaching or approximately reaching the ridge line of the rear body cover to reduce the extent to which a passenger needs to spread their legs, improves comfort and hold when their legs are rested over the side cover structure, improves holding and protects color coating when their feet are positioned on the passenger steps.
