A kneader (1) has: a casing (3) having an insertion opening (9) in the upper part thereof and having therein rotors (4) provided with blade sections (16) for kneading an object to be kneaded; a floating weight (7) for closing the insertion opening (9); and a floating weight movement mechanism (10) having a horizontal movement section (11) capable, above the insertion opening (9), of horizontally moving the floating weight (7), which is in a supported state, between a delivering and receiving position (P2) which is immediately above the insertion opening (9) and a retracted position (P3) which is located to a side of the insertion opening (9), the floating weight movement mechanism (10) being capable of moving the floating weight (7) from the delivering and receiving position (P2) to a closing position (P1) while the floating weight (7) is separated from the horizontal movement section (11), the closing position (P1) being the position where the insertion opening (9) is closed. |
