<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink comprising a dispersed colored particle excellent in image density, image permanence and ink ejectability, and an ink set using it. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous ink comprises the dispersed colored particle composed of a dye and a polymer, in which when letting an integral value of absorbance in diluting the aqueous ink with water be A and an integral value of absorbance in diluting the aqueous ink with acetone be B, A/B is ≥0.6 and <1.2.
