PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a user in both operations of opening operation and closing operation of an opening/closing member.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus include: an opening/closing member provided openably/closably about a shaft with respect to a body of the image forming apparatus; a load supply part having a rotating body and applying a braking load to the rotating body only when rotating in one direction; and an arm part including a first engaging part that moves with opening/closing operation about the shaft of the opening/closing member, is engaged with the rotating body at a first opening/closing area of the opening/closing member and rotates the rotating body, and a second engaging part that is engaged with the rotating body at a second opening/closing area different from the first opening/closing area and rotates the rotating body in the inverse direction of the first engaging part. When the first engaging part or second engaging part of the arm part is engaged with the rotating body associated with the opening operation or closing operation of the opening/closing member, the image forming apparatus rotates the rotating body in the one direction to apply the braking load from the load supply part to the opening/closing member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
