A video monitor layout method and device. The method comprises: determining a plurality of sample points on a map (310), and determining a spatial range to be analyzed based on distribution regions of the plurality of sample points; conducting rasterization processing on the spatial range to be analyzed, so as to obtain grid units of the spatial range (320); conducting weight assignment on each sample point, wherein the weight assignment represents the size of monitor requirements at the sample point (330); and according to a weight value of each of the sample points and the location relationship between each of the sample points and each of the grid units, performing a calculation to obtain a weight value of each of the grid units, and according to the weight value of each of the grid units, generating camera distribution location data of the spatial range (340). |
