PURPOSE:To improve ignitability of air-fuel mixture in an auxiliary combustion chamber, by a method wherein an auxiliary combustion chamber temperature increasing means to hold temperature in the auxiliary combustion chamber at a high value is disposed in the auxiliary combustion chamber in which an auxiliary injector and an ignition plug are disposed. CONSTITUTION:In an engine, for example, a rotary piston engine, a main injector 8 is disposed in an actuating chamber 5 serving as a main combustion chamber, and an auxiliary injector 9 and an ignition plug 12 are disposed in an auxiliary combustion chamber 11. In this constitution, a cylindrical heat insulating member 45 of ceramics being coaxial with a small part 42a is disposed to the small part 42a in a mounting hole 42 for the auxiliary injector 8, formed in a rotary housing 13, along the inner peripheral surface of the small part. The surroundings of the auxiliary combustion chamber 11 are surrounded with the heat insulating member 45, and the temperature of the auxiliary combustion chamber 11 is held at a high value. This constitution improve ignitablity of air-fuel mixture in the auxiliary combustion chamber 11. |
