In a mud flap mount for the detachable connection of the mounting area of a mud flap (3) which comes to rest against the mud flap fold (2) and has a flap main body (4) in the extension of which the adaptation extension (5) having the mounting area is located, a bracket is used which has a clamping part which is connected to the other bracket part (6, 21, 22) by means of two bolts (11, 12) arranged in the longitudinal extent of the mounting area at a distance from one another. The side of the clamping part forming the bracket opening has a central recess which is open towards the side facing away from the bolts (11, 12) and whose sides are formed by two clamping projections. The two corner areas of the free ends of the clamping projections are bent over in the direction of the bracket part (6, 21, 22).
