<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring an endless belt into contact with an image carrier or separate the endless belt from the image carrier in response to an image formation content without generating large size of an apparatus and the meander of the endless belt. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus arranges first eccentric cams 211 and 221 contacted on the inner peripheral face of an intermediate transfer belt 11, second eccentric cams 212 and 222 rotated integrally with each of the first eccentric cams 211 and 221, cam followers 214 and 224 contacted on the peripheral face of the second eccentric cam 212 and 222, and transmission members 215a-215d holding transfer rollers 13a-13d by interlocking with the cam followers 214 and 224 respectively in the inside of a loop-like moving route formed by the intermediate transfer belt 11 stretched between a drive roller 11a and a driven roller 11b. Vertical positions of the transfer rollers 13a-13d held on the transmission members 215a-215d change in response to a contact state of the first eccentric cams 211 and 221 to the inner peripheral face of the intermediate transfer belt 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
