A displacement auger is hollow (12) with a pointed tip (26) and a drive shaft (22) passing longitudinally through its centre, which terminates in the pointed tip (26). Displacement segments (12.1;22.1) of hollow tube (12) and drive shaft (22) are of the same length (L), while basic segments (12.0;22.0) of the hollow tube (12) and drive shaft (22) are of different lengths (LO,L). There are positioning discs (48) fitted to the drive shaft (22) between segments (22.1) with a little radial play inside the tube (12) as an anti buckling device. USE/ADVANTAGE - The support device for the drive needs only a min. torque to control it.
