PURPOSE:To inexpensively prevent the crazing of a concrete structure by mixing a natural vegetable fiber of Gramineae, Juncaseae, Bambusa, etc., into ready mixed concrete. CONSTITUTION:The natural vegetable fiber of Gramineae, Juncaceae, Bambusa, etc., is dried, loosened, cut to a specified size and mixed into ready mixed concrete. The amt. of the fiber to be mixed is appropriately controlled to about 1vol.% of the concrete. Since the sp.gr. of the vegetable fiber is lower than that of the conventionally used metallic fiber, the vegetable fiber can be dispersed in concrete easily and uniformly, and the compressive strength and resistance to crazing of a concrete structure are enhanced. The crazing of the concrete is reduced by about 25% in comparison to the conventional concrete, and its application is simplified as compared with the conventional concrete contg. metallic or plastic fibers. |
