PURPOSE: To provide the method for manufacturing the photographic element, improved in photographic characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A silver halide emulsion to be used contains silver halide grains in the range of sizes suitable for enhancing the performance of the photographic element, specifically, the photographic element is manufactured by heating the emulsion containing radiation sensitive silver haloiodide grains in a process for forming a first melt, heating an emulsion containing silver salt grains effective for enhancing the photographic characteristics of the silver haloiodide in a process for forming a second melt, and finally coating a photographic support with these melts in a process for forming the photographic element, thus permitting the sensivity this photographic element to be enhanced beyond expection.
