INK JET RECORDING METHOD AND INK JET RECORDING PAPER USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method enabling formation of an image having a high image quality of which the discoloration due to harmful gas such as ozone gas or light is reduced, which is excellent in the rate of ink absorption and in which bronzing or blurring after printing hardly occurs, and ink jet recording paper used therefor.

SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording method wherein the ink containing a dye expressed by general formula (1) or (2) is injected into the ink jet recording paper having a void type ink absorbing layer so as to form an image, the ink absorbing layer of the ink jet recording paper has at least two hydroxyl groups in a molecule and contains a polyol or the like having a molecular weight of 300 or below, and pH of a film surface on the side whereon the ink absorbing layer of the ink jet recording paper is provided by coating is 3.0-6.0.
