The preparation serves in the therapy and prophylaxis of diseases of the digestive tract that occur in the presence of pathogenic and/or facultative-pathogenic bacteria, such as, for example, in the presence of Helicobacter pylori. For this purpose, a concentration of at least 5 .mu.g of a polypeptide antibiotic per ml of fluid must be achieved at the site to be affected. This occurs by the application of a pre-defined dose.
