PURPOSE: To provide a cartridge filter excellent in pressure-resistant strength, filtering accuracy and filtering life and to efficiently produce the cartridge filter without using a core. CONSTITUTION: A coarse fiber aggregate sheet composed of thick fibers is wound around the innermost layer of a filter and a nonwoven fiber aggregate sheet is wound around and laminated on the coarse fiber aggregate layer from the upper layer part thereof to the outer layer part of the filter. At least the innermost layer of the laminate of the nonwoven fiber aggregate sheet contains thermally adhesive fibers and fiber interlacing parts are bonded and fixed by the thermally adhesive fibers and the sheet composed of the nonwoven fiber aggregate is wound and laminated in such a state that the sheet surface is inclined with respect to the axial direction of the filter.
