PURPOSE: To obtain the subject gene containing a base sequence coding a brain specific tyrosine kinase having a specific amino acid sequence or a sequence prepared by partial substitution of, deletion from or addition to the sequence, useful for producing an enzyme for elucidating the function of the tyrosine kinase in the central nerve system and usage of medicines. CONSTITUTION: This new gene contains a base sequence coding a brain specific tyrosine kinase having an amino acid sequence of the formula, a base sequence prepared by partial substitution of, deletion from or addition to the sequence or a base sequence to be hybridized with them and is useful for elucidating the function of the tyrosine kinase specific to brain in the central nerve system, investigation of its application to medicines and as an antigen for producing an antibody for detecting a related antigen of a neurocutaneous syndrome such as nodular scleroma. The gene is obtained by cloning from a human chromosome 21th-specific genomic library by amplifying the gene with a primer based on an amino acid sequence of a subdomain VI having high preservation of tyrosine kinase by the PCR method. |
