PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery cosmetic that can improve the color darkness of the skin itself and has excellent retention of the cosmetic finish immediately after cosmetic application. SOLUTION: This powdery cosmetic contains (A) the powder havingΔL*>0,Δb*<0 derived from the following formulas:ΔL*=L1 *-L0 *,Δb*=b1 *-b0 * by measuring the color values before coating (L0 *, a0 *, b0 *) and after coating (L1 *, a1 *, b1 *), according to the CIE1976 L* a* b* specification system, when the cosmetic is applied on skin or a skin-colored substrate made of a skin-like artificial leather at a rate of 8 mg/100 cm<2> , and (B) zinc oxide with a specific surface area of 10-100 m<2> /g.
