METHOD FOR DECONTAMINATING A HOLLOW NEEDLE

The invention concerns a method for decontaminating a metal hollow needle (1) for sampling and/or dispensing a contaminating liquid (2), the needle (1) co-operating with electric wiring means (3 and 4) for providing an electric current in the needle (1) for decontaminating and preserving the integrity of said needle (1) for re-use. The method consists in: injecting a cleansing liquid (5) into the hollow needle (1), which has been used for sampling and/or dispensing the contaminating liquid (2); applying a heat source on part or all of the cleansing liquid (5) present in said hollow needle (1); and ejecting said contaminating liquid (2) and all or part of said cleansing liquid (2). The invention is particularly applicable to biochemical analysers.
