The helicopter has lifting units (40) each with a rotor and an electric motor (2) to drive the rotor. The helicopter is divided into sub-assemblies that are connected with each other mechanically by a detachable plug connection (45). Electrical connections are provided between the sub-assemblies to connect the electrical components of different sub-assemblies, where the electrical connections are integrated in the plug connection. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing the dimension of a helicopter.
