<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seawater desalination method and its apparatus which can efficiently remove sodium chloride from a large volume of seawater in a short time and obtain almost perfect freshwater. <P>SOLUTION: The seawater desalination apparatus has a metal spiral filter 6B disposed in a circulation passage for dissociating sodium chloride in seawater into chlorine ions and a sodium ion by high-frequency current and capturing the chlorine ions to transpire it as chlorine gas, a high-temperature superconducting electromagnet 4 for introducing the chlorine-removed seawater into a strong and steep magnetic field and magnetically separating sodium ions, a mesh, spiral, cylindrical or other shaped adsorption filters 6A disposed around the magnetic field of the high-temperature superconducting electromagnet 4 in a state of connection to the spiral filter 6B for capturing the magnetically separated sodium ions, and a laminated adsorption filter device 5 comprising a plurality of chambers arranged along a passage so as to be laminated for perfectly capturing sodium ions remaining in the seawater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
