METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECEPTION LIMITING OF CELL BROADCAST MESSAGES IN A MOBILE TERMINAL

A cell broadcasting message processing method of a mobile communication terminal and a device are provided to enable a communication processor to delete an overlapped receiving cell broadcasting message while an application processor does not process the same cell broadcasting message, thereby saving battery power of the terminal. A mobile communication terminal is idle state in power on(S301). A communication processor decides whether a random cell broadcasting message is received(S303). The communication processor extracts channel information and language information of the currently received cell broadcasting message(S311). The communication processor decides whether the cell broadcasting message is the first cell broadcasting message(S313). If not, the communication processor decides whether channel information of the currently received message is the same as particular channel information of a previously received message(S315). If so, the communication processor decides whether language information of the current message is the same as language information of the previous message(S317). If so, the current message is deleted(S319).
