PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool an antenna coil in an NMR probe head to enhance the detection sensitivity for an NMR signal. SOLUTION: The antenna coil 24 is supported by a coil-supporting member 26. A cooling member 30 is arranged to surround the coil-supporting member 26, and forms a cooling space 60 between the cooling member 30 and the coil-supporting member 26. A cooling medium is caused to flow through the cooling space 60. The cooling medium gets into direct contact with the outer peripheral surface of the coil-supporting member 26 to effectively cool the antenna coil 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
