A composition for prevention of the occurrence and/or recurrence of a cardiovascular event comprising ethyl eicosapentaenoate ester as an active ingredient, which is useful for the prevention of the occurrence and/or recurrence of a cardiovascular event, and is particularly expected to show a preventive effect on the occurrence and/or recurrence of a cardiovascular event that occurs and/or recurs in a hyperlipemia patient despite having received a therapy with HMG-CoA RI, more particularly a cardiovascular event that occurs after passing through an unstable period after the application of cardiovascular reconstruction. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008
