<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode-use electrode structure for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery exerting excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics without an electrode material layer being peeled off a collector even if a charge/discharge cycle is repeated for a long time, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having an anode consisting of the electrode structure, with a long charge/discharge cycle life, a high capacity, and a high energy density. <P>SOLUTION: The anode-use electrode structure for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with an electrode material layer (101) formed on the collector (100) by coating and drying slurry prepared by mixing powder (103) of silicon capable of electrochemically storing/discharging lithium, tin, or an alloy containing at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of a silicon element and a tin element as a main component element, a conductive material (104), polyvinyl alcohol of a denatured type having a functional group easy to chemically bond with metal oxide as a binder (105), and water solution as a thickener.
