A multimedia information providing system for providing a transmitter with a peripheral video of a receiver and a method thereof are provided to supply the transmitter with the peripheral video of the receiver in real time in a call connection wait state of call connection state generated when the transmitter dials a phone number of the receiver, thereby enabling the transmitter to know peripheral environment of the receiver easily. Plural video providing units(102,104,106) are connected to Internet, and respectively provide videos of each region such as famous tourist attractions or a noted place that a transmitter can easily know through a projected background. If a specific mobile communication transmitter dials a phone number of a specific mobile communication receiver, a multimedia information providing unit(110) requests a video to a video providing unit corresponding to a location of the receiver and receives the requested video to provide the received video to the transmitter. |
