<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of effectively suppressing occurrence of an image defect. <P>SOLUTION: A laser printer 1 is provided with: a conveying belt 33 which circularly conveys paper along a paper conveying surface 33A; an image forming section 10 which is disposed on the front surface side of the conveyed paper and transfers toner to the front surface of the paper to form a toner image; and a fixing unit 80 which is disposed on the downstream side of the paper conveying surface 33A from the conveying belt 33 and fixes the toner image on the paper. The fixing unit 80 has: a heating roller 81 which comes into contact with the front surface side of the paper and is rotationally driven; and a pressure roller 82 which is pressed against the heating roller 81 from the rear surface side of the paper. An accumulation portion 100 in which toner waste can be accumulated is present on a protective wall 93 between the image forming section 10 and the heating roller 81. The accumulation portion 100 is provided with a contact portion 110 coming into contact with an out-of-image-forming-area 99A at the trailing edge 9 of the paper jumping in a direction away from the paper conveying surface 33A and closer to the heating roller 81. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
