<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery with excellent high rate charge/discharge performance and cycle performance using a gel nonaqueous electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte battery has at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode and the gel nonaqueous electrolyte comprising a lithium salt, a nonaqueous solvent and a polymeric material. The polymeric material is obtained by polymerizing polyfunctional monomer having three or more molecular chain ends and a polymerizable functional group at the molecular chain ends. The ratio of the polymerizable functional group occupied at all the molecular chain ends of the monomer is 50% to 80%.
