<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus with a secondary battery discharge function preventing the memory effect of a secondary battery, alternatively, reactivating the secondary battery causing the memory effect by arranging a discharge mode for satisfactorily discharging the secondary battery in a digital camera etc. <P>SOLUTION: A nickel hydride battery is used, for example, as a battery 26 for a digital camera.
