Provided are a polarizing plate having excellent durability at high temperature and high moisture, and an optical display apparatus having the same. The polarizing plate comprises: a polarizer; an adhesive layer formed on an upper surface of the polarizer; a protective film formed on an upper surface of the adhesive layer, and having moisture transmittance smaller than or equal to 30 g/m^224hr; and a barrier layer formed on a lower surface of the polarizer and made of a composition for a barrier layer including an alicyclic epoxy resin having a glass transition temperature higher than or equal to 200C. The polarizing plate has a light transmittance variation of a formula 1 less than or equal to 3%. The formula 1 is the light transmittance variation = T_0 - T_500/T_0 x 100.
