This automobile body repair method includes: a putty application step for applying putty to a dent to be repaired in an automobile body; and a putty shaping step for scraping away the excess portion of the putty and forming a putty skin using a putty scraper for automobile body repair that is deformed so as to match the curved shape of the automobile body near the dent to be repaired. The putty scraper has: a scraper body for removing, via the scraper tip, the excess portion of putty applied to the dent to be repaired; and a deformation-maintaining member having a substantially U-shaped cross-section in which surface-contact parts, which come into surface-contact with both the front surface and back surface of the scraper body, are mutually opposed. The deformation-maintaining member can be deformed into a desired curved shape, together with the scraper body, by manually applying a load in a state in which the scraper body is inserted and fixed between the mutually opposed surface-contact parts. Once deformed, the deformation-maintaining member maintains the scraper tip in the desired curved shaped by maintaining the curved shape even after the load is removed. |
