In a vacuum brake booster with a piston rod (8, 30, 37), coupled to the brake pedal, for the actuation of a control valve (9), by means of which a working chamber (3) of the brake booster can be connected either to a vacuum or a higher differential pressure, a device is arranged on the fork head (29) of the piston rod (8, 30, 37), which allows the distance of the unit-side ball head (37) from the fork head (29) to be adjusted. Increasing this distance means that even in the brake release position of the brake pedal the working chamber (3) is connected to the atmosphere so that the vacuum brake booster produces full braking as soon as the vacuum is admitted to the vacuum chamber (4). The device comprising a locking wedge (31), slidable by means of a magnet (36), and a pushrod (30) serves as an anti-theft device. <IMAGE>
