The controller has a signal source selection user input (101) to transmit a signal source selection signal for a display. A signal from a mode selection user input (104) generates a control signals to select a multifunction user input operation to control signal mapping. A signal from the multifunction user input (102, 103, 105) is transmitted in dependence on the selected multifunction user input operation. The multifunction user input has external input select button, direction button, cancel button and other buttons.
